People in the world can be friends through a globalization.
People are not sure about that where fortune cookies are come from exactly, but most Chinese restaurant serve fortune cookies after meal. Even People in India can eat fortune cookies and feel Chinese custom. This phenomenon, it is called “Globalization”. People have shared other countries culture already and many people have different opinion about globalization. Globalization is not a dangerous phenomenon. Because it gives us free trade without any taxes, and it relieves conflicts between countries.
First of all, globalization makes people trade free each other. Many countries can save their money and time to negotiation. For example, if Korea wants to import California’s oranges, Korea government have to pay taxes to them. Besides, the government wastes time to make a contract with America. The tax that Korea government has to pay to America means it also burden Korea citizens. Thus, in free trade people in the world can release from many taxes. People can get necessaries that can not get at their home from other countries easily.
Last, globalization mitigates conflicts all over the world. Many countries have had troubles with each other. According to Fontanel, “There is a new scarcity and scarcity is always a cause of conflicts.”(as cited in Altman, 2007, pg.16). Because of these conflicts, countries sometimes occur a war and so many people are suffered from it. Globalization makes the world share each culture. For example, a famous soap opera ‘Dae jang guem’ in Korea is now showing in China and Japan. Throughout the globalization many Chinese and Japanese share Korea’s culture and they can understand more about it. Like this, globalization is a good phenomenon to cultural policy. By exchanging each culture people can have respect to others. It will help the world getting together and relieving conflicts. Eventually they may feel they are ‘the one’.
Opponents who said that globalization is a dangerous phenomenon because globalization damages other developing countries. They also claimed that wealth countries compel poor countries to receive their culture and they destroy poor countries own culture. However it is not true. If many developing countries could not get some help and advanced culture, they would be in same status forever. Globalization can be a good phenomenon to every country if they just respect each other and try to understand and accept it.
In conclusion, although some opponents said that globalization profit to wealth country but globalization must be a good phenomenon. Every country can be free with every trade, also can be released with dissension. As long as people live as a human being, people can not live alone. If people are aware of this globalization is necessary to live. Globalization is an interdependence that everyone in the world should share together. Not just for wealth country but for all country in the world.

Research Paper
Wendy loves Wendy’s!
In these days, many people in the world can not imagine their lives without fast food. As lots of people getting jobs, they do not have enough time to cook so they are looking for fast food more and more. According to Paeratakul, S. (2003, November), “Fast food is a growing component of the American diet, and the frequency of fast-food use has increased dramatically since the early 1970s. The number of fast-food outlets increased from about 30, 000 in 1970 to 140, 000 in 1980, and fast food sales increased by about 300%. Recent estimates show that in 2001, there were about 222, 000 fast-food locations in the United States, generating sales of more than $125 billion. Three often consumers agreed that meals at a restaurant or fast-food establishment are essential to the way they live, and three of five consumers reported that they ate at fast-food restaurants in 2002 about as often as they did in 2001” (para.1). As above this article it is a fact that fast food consumption has increased. So which fast food restaurant do you prefer? In fact, Wendy’s has advantages than any other fast food restaurants such as McDonald’s and Burger King.
In “Wendy’s company profile” (2007, October), “Wendy's is the third largest quick-service hamburger restaurant chain in the world, with more than 6,700 restaurants in North America and international markets. It was founded by Dave Thomas in Columbus Ohio in 1969. After ten years, Wendy’s became the first national restaurant chain to introduce the salad bar. In addition, Dave Thomas created foundation for adoption in 1992. Wendy's serves the best hamburgers in the business, made with fresh beef hot-off-the-grill and a choice of toppings. We also serve chicken sandwiches, frescata sandwiches, fries, frosty, soft drinks, and a variety of fresh, healthful foods - garden salads, grilled chicken sandwiches, baked potatoes, and chili. Nowadays, it has more than 300 international Wendy’s restaurants” (para.1). Controversy about fast food has many different people’s opinion. In “Epinions”, lawgirl (2000, October) said that McDonald’s is the cheapest fast food and especially Big Mac tastes very good. Malysa (2001, January) who likes Burger King said that Burger King is the good place to enjoy with whole family (from a child to an elder). On the other side, Bruguru (2001, June) said that Wendy’s has a better quality than the average fast food restaurant. People’s preference about fast food restaurant is hard to anticipate. In fact, Wendy’s has advantages than other fast food restaurant because they have various menus, more healthy food, lots of society programs and special advertisement.
At first, Wendy’s has diverse menu than any other fast food restaurant. They are different concept of hamburgers from other fast food hamburgers. For example, there is a menu “Old Fashioned Hamburgers” which has a square patty. In addition to, they have square sandwiches and the ingredients are more various than others. For example, in “McDonald’s Menu”, chicken club sandwich’s ingredients are toasted bakery roll, lettuce, mayonnaise, a slice of tomato, bacon and Swiss cheese. However, in “Wendy’s Menu”, chunky chicken salad ferscata has special ingredients. It has tender chopped chicken breast and vegetables tossed together with Dijon ranch, romaine, a slice of tomato. In other words, Wendy’s offers more selections and choices to customers. Moreover, according to “McDonald's Versus Wendy’s” (2007), they provide to a wide-range of tastes with their baked potato, chili, and several sandwich options. Wendy’s presents 5 chicken and hamburger selections compared to only 3 from McDonald’s. Wendy’s as well offers two different salad choices while McDonald’s offers only a side salad.
Second, Wendy’s nutrition is healthier than any other fast food restaurants. In these days, many people concern about trans fat. Actually Wendy’s is trying to reduce trans fat. For example, French fries which size is medium in “McDonalds Nutrition” calories from fat are 180g, trans fat is 5g and protein is 4g. However, same size French fries in “Wendy’s Nutrition”, even though calories from fat is same with McDonalds, its trans fat is 1g and protein is 6g. It shows that Wendy’s has lower trans fat and better nutrition than other fast food restaurants.
Third, Wendy’s has lots of community programs. According to “Wendy’s community programs”, they have Wendy’s Animal Welfare Program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, Wendy’s 3 Tour Challenge, Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Wendy’s High School Heisman Program. Among these, in “Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption” they introduce themselves that “The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is a non-profit public charity dedicated to dramatically increasing the adoptions of the more than 140,000 children in North America’s foster care systems. Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy’s, created the Foundation in 1992 to assure that every child has a permanent home and a loving family” (para.1). Like this program, Wendy’s are giving back to society what they earned from it. Wendy’s is not only care about their company but also community.
Last of all, Wendy’s logo on advertising is reliable. For instance, in “Wendy’s Ads”, they use a phrase “Fresh, Never Frozen”. Because of that phrase people can believe them and eat real meat patty. Furthermore they use clever advertising to reveal their value to promotion. For example, in “McDonald's Versus Wendy’s” (2007), when the fast food chain started yielding the characters in their commercials associating everyday expenses with the value of Wendy’s 99-cent menu items, it was certainly catchy and entertaining. Wendy’s advertising makes customers believe not just for selling products.
According to “National Review” (2005, June), “Some weeks ago, one Anna Ayala, a 39-year-old resident of Las Vegas, "found" part of a human finger in the bowl of chili served to her at a Wendy's fast-food franchise in California. She promptly sued..”. An opponent claimed that she found a human finger in the bowl. However, it is not true. Also in “National Review”, “when she sued Wendy’s it was withdrew her action when it became known that she is a serial plaintiff, who has a long record of trying to get money out of big corporations.” It shows that it was not a real.
In conclusion, Wendy’s has many strong points than any other fast food restaurants. It serves many kinds of menus, lower trans fat. Moreover Wendy’s has efforts to do many community programs and advertising. All companies, including fast food chains encounter problems about public’s interest. What important is that do all they can to create ways to improve their services and present high standards. Wendy’s is one company that value quality, not only in their service, but also in their products, employees and customer satisfaction.

Corruption is an enemy.
In Beijing, there was a conference about anti-corruption. Many countries and international institutions have been working for years on eliminating corruption. The World Bank estimates that about one-third of all public investment is wasted due to bribery. Also, more than 30 percent of multinationals feel that corruption is a major or very severe concern to them in their investment decisions with countries around the world. Added to bribery is the cost of money laundering, estimated about $500billion U.S. per year. As a result, many countries are preoccupied now with anti-corruption efforts. There are four elements to the successful implementation of anti-corruption strategy. First, there have to be adequate laws. Second, all citizens must be aware of the rules. Third, there must be aggressive implementation of the policies. Last, place the right people in leadership roles.
Corruption is not a domestic problem anymore it is a global concern. Many politicians or chief executive officer in company are involved in corruption. Even though they know they are in wrong way. According to “Exporting Corruption; Privatization, Multinationals and Bribery” Susan, H.(2006, June) said “For multinationals, bribery enables companies to gain contracts or concessions which they would not otherwise have won, or to do so on more favorable terms. Every year, Western businesses pay huge amounts of money in bribes to win friends, influence and contracts. These bribes are conservatively estimated to run to US$80 billion a year—roughly the amount that the UN believes is needed to eradicate global poverty.” Nobody can believe that people spend 80 billion dollars paying for briberies every year. Thus, people should find solutions about corruption. Corruption must be a big problem for these reasons: it benefits the company not the country, creates gap between the rich and poor, makes people think money is everything.
First of all, corruption does not give profit to country but company. The reason why most companies practice corruption is to make a lot of money. The company, sometimes they are related to some politicians. For example, a company who wants to build plant in limited area will give some money to powerful politicians for building plants in limited area. Unfortunately, if the government let companies break laws, the crimes in society will be increased. Because eventually breaking laws again and again make company do not feel guilty. Therefore, as people think about development of country, they should not do corruption.
Second, corruption make gap between rich and poor people large. People who can do corruption are mostly rich because money makes corruption possible. For example, if a person who wants to get a goal, he or she would give briberies to someone. After achieving the goal some people will be richer. Thus, rich people are getting richer, poor people getting poorer. For example, if a rich person wanted his or her son to work for famous company and he or she got a job from the company by giving a bribe, a poor person has less opportunities to get a job. Hence, the gap between the rich and poor never should occur because of the corruption.
Last, corruption makes people think money means everything. Most of corruption is occurred by giving and taking money. For example, if person did corruption and he or she success, they would think that money solves everything. The thought that money is everything is very dangerous. Not all problem can not be solved by money. A person who is succeed because of corruption can not be permitted. Also, if people in the world think “money is everything” all societies would be corrupt making corruption a global issue.
In conclusion, although some people insist that there is no solution to corruption, this is just an excuse. People must do their best before complaining. There are enough reasons finding solution because corruption wastes a lot of money, the rich and poor are getting further, and corruption make people money is more important than humans. To find solutions people can found the organization about corruption if they need to. Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is a good example. Everyone in the world should recognize that corruption is the way of destroying the world.
